With One Day Collective.

Hamilton based Photographer, Danielle Thomas, spends her weekends travelling the countryside to capture the special memories of couples on their wedding day.

With five years experience behind her, Danielle know exactly what her dream wedding would entail. “A backyard, speedy ceremony (with all the important bits of course) then to be able to just chill under big trees and festoon lights with tables and seats of all shapes and sizes, endless food and drinks and a really great acoustic band. “

Tell us a little about your business. I started out shooting anything I could point my camera at, though it wasn’t long till I fell in love with weddings. I recently had a rebrand to ‘One Day Collective’. I wanted to be able to start working with other photographers and vendors and having a business that could give you a little direction on more than just your photography. I still shoot families on request and Visual business sessions for local businesses.

How many weddings have you been involved in? Oh wow, this year I will actually shoot number 100.

What advice would you give to couples planning their big day? Make it about you and your love for each other. Make it a marriage not a wedding. Let go of all the hand me down idea’s of what a wedding should be like or what your cousin or best friend had and celebrate who you are to each other. If you hate formal dinners then don’t have one. If you love a backyard bbq then have that. Its’ really that simple. If you were to plan your last every party with all your favourite people what would you do?

Tell us how you work with other businesses. We recently teamed up with 5 other local vendors for our first Styled Shoot. It was an amazing experience with the aim of showcasing our little pocket of western Victoria. We have so much talent right here and we have had an amazing response.

Find this on the Absolute Weddings blog.

“When it comes to choosing your vendors and they will usually have a posse of awesome vendor buddies to help as well.”
