SPRING CARNIVAL

MAKEUP TRENDS WITH PIP TYNDALL OF

MUSE MAKEUP ARTISTRY

What’s the make up style that is taking over for the spring carnival this season?

It’s all about dewy skin and a great highlight. And of course bold brows don’t look like they are going out of fashion any time soon.

How should you style your make up to work with your outfit?

Try to just have one element of your makeup as the standout – don’t have too much going on as it can tend to compete with your outfit. And just try to keep with the general colour palette when choosing your lipstick especially – no need to match exactly!

What are the do’s and don’ts of spring carnival makeup?

Don’t go too heavy on the eye makeup, after all it is a daytime event. Do ensure you are wearing sunscreen, your makeup won’t look very good if you are burnt to a crisp half way through the day!

What would you like to see more of?

I love to see a bright lip for Spring Racing, it just yells springtime!

Have you had anyone so far blow you away with their look?

Jodi Gordon and Jen Hawkins barely ever get it wrong. I just adore how they pull a whole look together and really keep on trend with their makeup.

Is there anything you should do in the weeks leading up to the races to prep your skin for your make up artist?

Definitely keep up a good cleansing, toning, moisturising routine and ensure you are wearing sunscreen daily to avoid any sun damage / peeling. Also, look after your lips daily with a great lip moisturising and exfoliating product. I recommend the Runway Room Lip Prep, it is a miracle worker in keeping lips soft and ridding them of loose, dry skin.
